Family run breeders based in the heart of Lincolnshire.
Our Story
Stamford Bengals was founded on our passion for animals, especially cats. We are a small family run business breeding pure pedigree Bengal cats. Located in the heritage town of Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Simon and Lyn Frisby
We have always been animal lovers, and over the years have had all the family pets that children insist on - Hamsters, Gerbils, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits and of course a family cat. Our current menagerie consists of our dog, Woody, a Chocolate Labrador and our nine cats (eight Bengals and a domestic cat).
“Our visit to Lyn and Simon's family home to get our Bengal Kitten was fantastic. They were incredibly helpful, and we felt reassured that we could approach them again when we're ready for another Bengal.”

Frequently asked questions

Bengals can make wonderful pets because they are adaptable to different living situations. They are happy as a devoted companion to a single person or as a family pet. Bengals are highly intelligent, alert, curious, and lively. They love to play and will remain playful even in their old age. They have a particular liking for water and will play with a dripping tap for hours. They also enjoy watching the toilet flush! Bengals get along well with children, cat-friendly dogs, and other cats after getting to know them. However, they are territorial creatures and introducing them to new cats as adults can be challenging. Bengals are affectionate cats and enjoy the company of humans. Although they may not always be lap cats, they enjoy curling up beside you and sleeping on the bed. At times, they may wake you up to play footsies in the middle of the night or to tell you when it's time to get up!

Bengals are active and athletic cats that require regular exercise and mental stimulation. While they enjoy free access to the outdoors, it's only recommended in rural areas where the risk of road accidents and theft is minimal. To keep your Bengal safe while playing outside, breeders highly recommend investing in a garden enclosure system. Bengals can also adapt well to indoor life, as long as they have the company of humans or other felines and plenty of space to move around. Indoor cat activity centers that feature scratching posts, tunnels, boxes, and high-level beds are ideal for keeping your Bengal happy. If you work during the day, it's best to adopt two kittens so they can keep each other company. Similar to any domestic short-haired cat, Bengals are not picky eaters and require minimal grooming. Brushing and combing your Bengal's coat once a week will keep it in excellent condition and remove loose hair. These cats are also very clean and quickly learn to use litter boxes.

For the safety of your Bengal and to prevent theft, it is advised not to let them roam outside unsupervised. However, you can create a safe and secure outdoor space like a small run or catio. Another option is training your Bengal to walk on a leash, which they can quickly learn.
